EPSRC

Engineering & Physical Sciences Research is the main UK government agency for funding research and training in engineering and the physical sciences. The PhD projects supported are in line with those funded by the EPSRC and will be in one of the following themes:

  • digital economy
  • energy and decarbonisation
  • engineering
  • healthcare technologies
  • information and communication technologies (ICT)
  • manufacturing the future
  • mathematical sciences
  • physical sciences
  • quantum technologies
  • research infrastructure

Students apply to the University to be considered for EPSRC funding, rather than directly to EPSRC. We encourage students who are part-time to apply for PhD study. We are also keen to encourage applications from all under-represented groups, including those with a disability or from a widening participation background and students from Black or South Asian backgrounds. We understand that it can be difficult to navigate the process of applying for PhD funding and are happy to provide guidance and support where required.

All scholarships and application deadlines will be advertised on findaphd.com.
