Hosting clinical research facilities and bringing academics, industry partners and the NHS together to strenthen our position as a world-leader in precision medicine.

We are excited to present a fresh and engaging programme for Industry Day 2017 and to invite you to the official opening of the Imaging Centre of Excellence (ICE). It will showcase our investment in a Clinical Innovation Zone and creative infrastructure to allow academics, industry partners and the NHS to work together within state of the art facilities to deliver a shared vision of a world-leading precision medicine ecosystem.

ICE will host cutting edge imaging clinical research facilities which provide a nexus for academic, NHS and industrial expertise in imaging whilst further strengthening our position as a world leader in precision medicine. ICE hosts a 7 Tesla MRI scanner, the first of its kind in the UK within a clinical site, underpinned by clinical research expertise in stroke, cardiovascular disease and brain imaging.

The official opening of ICE and civic champagne reception and lunch hosted by Lord Provost Sadie Docherty will be accompanied by partnering opportunities, displays, exhibits and networking. In the afternoon, two workshops will run in parallel. One workshop will focus on whole body imaging, whilst the other workshop will foster discussion around funding innovation with speakers from Innovate UK and Knowledge Transfer Network with contribution from Invest Glasgow.

Professor Sir Mark Walport, Chief Executive Designate of UK Research and Innovation, Government Chief Scientific Adviser and Head of Government Science and Engineering Profession will officially open ICE and give the keynote address at our Imaging, Innovation and Impact conference. He has recently been appointed to head Britain's newly created research funding organisation; the first chief executive of UK Research and Innovation - an umbrella body that will oversee the distribution of £6bn of research funding annually. Sir Mark is also currently the government's chief scientific adviser.

You have the option to schedule short meetings with other delegates. When registering for the event, you will be able to visit our partnering site http://mvlsindustryday2017.meeting-mojo.com and using your email address and password ‘industryday’, you can view the profiles of other participants and request one-to-one meetings in advance of the day.
