Research Themes
Our interdisciplinary research themes respond to emerging issues and our world’s grand challenges. They are driven by researchers and facilitate and encourage flexible research across our subject areas –
- Enlightenment and engagement
- Imagination and society
- Landscape and environment
- Medical humanities
- Global security
- Scottish Studies Global
Our organisational structure allows for flexible cross-disciplinary research between researchers – and you can find our more about that below. Our four Schools – Critical Studies; Culture and Creative Arts; Humanities: Modern Languages and Cultures – offer researchers support at a local level, whilst our subject areas and research centres offer researchers a strong balance of disciplinarity and interdisciplinarity.
