THE COMPETITION FOR 2013 ENTRY IS NOW CLOSED

In session 2013/14 the University will be offering a number of postgraduate studentships under the AHRC's Block Grant Partnership scheme in the following areas:

Doctoral Awards:

Celtic Studies
English and Scottish Language and Literature (some topics in English Language and Linguistics are also eligible for ESRC awards)
Film Studies and Television Studies
French Language & Culture
History
History of Art, Architecture and Design
Music
Philosophy
Theology & Religious Studies

Research Preparation Masters Awards:

English Language and Literature (including Scottish Literature)
History of Art, Architecture and Design
Librarianship, Archives, Record Management and Information Science

Potential applicants are advised to consult the AHRC Postgraduate Funding web pages for information on the Block Grant Partnership Scheme, on the AHRC subject domains, and on academic and residency criteria. AHRC studentships are funded at the UK Research Council rate. A 'full' studentship is offered to those meeting UK residency criteria and covers all postgraduate fees and a maintenance allowance. Applications for part-time study will be considered. EU nationals resident in the EU/EEA may be eligible for a 'fees-only' studentship. Applicants are strongly advised to consult the appropriate School pages for information on the research and teaching strengths of subject areas in the College.

How to apply:

In order to be considered for a scholarship, applicants must hold an unconditional or conditional offer of a place on a relevant College of Arts postgraduate degree programme prior to the scholarship application deadline (1 March 2013). Admissions applications must, therefore, be submitted in full by Sunday, 10 February 2013 at the very latest.

All applicants for a scholarship, including current University of Glasgow students applying for funding for 2nd/3rd year(s) of study, should complete a scholarship application form. Please ensure that you read the Guidance Notes for Applicants carefully before attempting the application form.

College of Arts Scholarship Application 2013 

The closing date for receipt of scholarship applications is Friday, 1 March 2013. Applications received after the closing date will not be considered.

Applicants should expect to hear about the outcome of the competition by the end of May 2013.
