The BBC offers an excellent site that coalesces a lot of data about water conditions into one handy site. I would recommend this as your first stop to getting simple and frequently updated information if you have little or no idea what an isobar is

BBC Coastal Weather

Windguru caters as an excellent tool for windsurfers/kiteboarders worldwide. It uses complex mathematics and prediction (chaos) theory to predict likely wind conditions across the country. When its right its very good. However some recording sites are put in poor positions, behind a tree for example where it will show calm wind in a force four, leading to possible wrong results for a very large area

Another handy wind reporting site is XCWeather. It provides half hourly updates of the current wind conditions and a record is kept for two hours before. No prediction provided but coupled with real weather reports you should be able to guess future conditions. Also available on Wap at http://xcw1.com

The Met office is the best and most direct source of weather information if you know how to interpret it. The pressure charts and inshore water predictions where instructions for reading can be found 'onsite'
