G.U. Humanist Society was formed in line with the proposals of New Humanism and the Humanist Movement. Our Humanism is an open ended project toward liberty, non-violence, non-discrimination and reciprocity. As a movement we are pluralistic, diverse and tolerant. We work toward a non-violent and global revolution that places labor before capital, real democracy before formal democracy, and meaning in life before resignation, complicity and the absurd. We understand Humanism as a universal tendency present in all cultures and times. In this sense it is neither a literary or academic tendency nor a philosophical position. Rather it is an attitude or disposition. Whenever this attitude appears, it always affirms allegiance to the human being over any faction, ideology or nation. It always affirms choice, responsibility, liberty and solidarity. Our methodology is non-violence. We invite everyone to participate with us in putting into practice the moral principle which says "treat others as you would like to be treated."
