THE 14TH ANNUAL GUVZS SYMPOSIUM
"Essential Exotics for the General Practitioner"

The 2008 GUVZS Symposium was entitled "Essential Exotics for the General Practitioner." Talks included were:

· ‘Clinical techniques in Rodents and Rabbits’ by Anna Meredith.

· ‘Boys CAN sew!” Suture techniques for Exotic Animals' by Anna Meredith.

· ‘Suturing exotics’ by Romain Pizzi.

· ‘Anaesthesia of Exotics’ by Lesa Longley

· ‘Reptile/Bird Haematology/Biochemistry’ by Lesa Longley

· ‘Sexing and surgery of reptile/bird by Alistair Lawrie.

The practical session was on:

· Suturing of Exotics and was run by Romain Pizzi

Whilst the symposium has been and gone, copies of the proceedings are available to purchase for £3. These notes are quite practical and will be useful in practice for both fourth and final year students. Please contact your year reps or any member of the committee.
