Information about the Club
Our bowling club was constituted in 1953. We are part of the Scottish Bowling Association. The membership varies from year to year. At present the membership stands at 25 in the Gents section. We also have a womens section whose membership stands at 30. The women are also part of the Scottish Women's Bowling Association and the Glasgow Women's Bowling Association. Both men and women have equal green time. We have a Scottish qualified umpire, Fraser Ross. We have one County player, Margaret Rattray, in the Club.
The club is situated within one mile of the University campus. It has its own bar facilities run by the members on a voluntary basis; prices are kept as reasonable as possible. We are the Presidential club of the West District league for the season 2009-2010. This year the West District League President is Mr K. Ensor Fees for membership during the season 2009-2010 are:-
Gents - £50 The Annual General Meeting (Gents) - 7.00pm on 18 February 2009. The Annual General Meeting (Ladies) - 7.00pm on 18 February 2009. Gents Opening Day - 10 April 2009. 6.00pm for 6.30pm Ladies Opening Day - 18 April 2009. 2.00pm for 2.30pm Finals Day - 22 August 2009. Closing Day - 26 September 2009. The Presentation of Prizes - 14 November 2009.
