Correspondence
- Gregor and Ian visited the bank to get receipts etc and to sort out cheque signatories fiasco. They
decided to retain their dignity and not kick up a fuss at the Bank of Scotland’s shoddy idea of service.
- Ewan sat the SRC minibus test. He thinks he has passed. Ewan also had contact with Christina
Brady, the charities convener at the SRC. She says we can’t perform in residential homes etc. in
exchange for tickets, only mention they are on sale.
- The possibility of visiting schools was also discussed, as was the suitability of ‘Anything Goes’
numbers for singing in the street a la ‘Oklahoma’. Finally, Ewan mentioned to Christina Brady that we
are very busy until February.
- Fraser McGibbon contacted us re: the passing of Alan Brown. Ian shall sign a card of condolence on
behalf of the society to be sent to Mr Brown’s brother. Alan Brown’s death will also be mentioned in
the society newsletter. We shall ask Andy Walker to write a few lines about Alan for the newsletter.
- Gregor will write the rest of the newsletter for Wednesday.
- Ewan has set up tests for Marianne and Laura for the minibus.
- Ewan also has access to A0 printing from the Kelvin Building. Nicky would like a large society logo
for future freshers stalls etc, and Mark would like something for the show.
Christmas Stuff.
Last night was ‘really good’ and Monday should be just as good. The Music Club have booked
Uisge-Beatha for a post concert social thing. They also have said that we should recieve half the
proceeds. We are provding refreshments, e.g mince pies and wine (it is decided that mulled wine is too
much hassle). Apparently Oddbins provide party glasses free with wine. We shall order 1 case white
and 1case red, and get our the orange squash left from ‘Bugsy Malone’. Oddbins will also deliver the
glasses, bless them. Laura will come to help serve refreshments if she isn’t working.
Old Folks Singing.
Karen is on the case – she will get on to it on Sunday, and will contact Baxter
House and Henderson House where we sang last year.
AOCB
- Saturday is the Murder Mystery evening. The committee are to be there from 6pm. Tony and Karen are doing the food.
Flyers/booking forms will be handed out to the cast today. Tickets will be on sale from next week.
- Next week is an ordinary rehearsal, no pyrotechnics or anything just because it is the end of term.
- Returning to the Weekend Away. Tony has been investigating Dublin, and has suggested the
weekend after week 10 of term 2.
- Ian brought up the resurrection of the Cecilian Concert party seperate from and after the main show for
the committee’s deliberation.
- Anne also asked about getting a piano tuner.
Meeting closed: 18.55pm
