Minutes of the Previous Meeting

Proposed - Mark
Seconded - Anne

Correspondence

  • We have been invited to take part in the Childline Christmas concert again on 6th December. Ewan has replied that we will take part. Once a musical director has been chosen we will ask them to correspond with Childline.
  • Ewan has been informed of mistakes on the website, which have now been corrected.
  • We definitely have the rights for Anything Goes and should receive the scripts/scores next Thursday or Friday.
  • We have received the scores for Bugsy Malone.
  • STAG have at last taken the lighting rig out of our store room. They are incredibly grateful and say we can borrow it back whenever necessary.
  • Andrea has provided us with the whereabouts of the Sweet Charity set. We still have nowhere to store it, and so we will write and ask them to store it for longer if at all possible.

Social Update

  • The pub crawl route has been decided upon. There are 2 questions for each of 7 pubs, concluding with team games in Jim's bar.
  • We will phone round to make sure as many people as possible come to the Hogshead 'reunion' on Tuesday.
  • The format of the first Anything Goes rehearsal is up to Mark and Anne: it will mainly be fun and games, possibly including a musicals quiz set by JP.
  • Anne has bravely offered her flat for the Hallowe'en party.

Associate Membership Scheme

In return for a minimum donation of £16, associate members will receive: a copy of the newsletter, a Christmas card from the society, their name in the programme, an invitation to purchase Dinner Dance tickets, priority booking and a presentation pack containing a memento of the show (i.e. poster and programme). We may throw some form of reception for them on the opening night.
Corporate sponsorship may be a useful form of fundraising, but we will discuss it when Johnny is present.

Bugsy Malone

Susan will send out invites to the honorary members as well as the usual complimentary tickets within the university. Lorna and Anne will poster the campus and various halls of residence. Postering Byres Road would be a waste of time. Johnny will try and get us mentioned in the papers/radio stations. The flats are being moved to Tony's garage on Saturday.

AOCB

  • £10 is too much to expect working members to pay, so their fee will be reduced to £8. It should be noted that Mark, who has already paid his £10, does not want his change.
  • We won't have Bugsy Malone T-shirts printed, but may make up a stencil to spray-paint if people bring their own T-shirt.
  • We will have a Freshers' Week post-mortem after Bugsy Malone, and will discuss a complaint to the SRC about the number of commercial companies with stalls in the Hunter Halls.

Next Meeting

The committee should attend the final production meeting at 6pm next Thursday, in the QM.

Meeting Closed at 7.13pm
