Correspondence

  • We finally got the postcard that Tony sent us from Portugal in June.
  • The rights material from Musicscope was in our SRC mailbox. We need to return the contract with £500 deposit.
  • The Scottish Charity Law Review Commission sent us a consultation document.
  • Lorna Bailey' piano has now been installed in the meeting room in Western Court. Thank you, Lorna.

Anything Goes...it's a musical(apparently)

Anne Herbert will be the Musical Director and Mark Ridyard will be the director. We need to decide when we want the materials sent out. We will have them sent to Western Court.

Freshers' Week

The main focus will be the Freshers' Fayre on August 27th and 28th. We will have a 'brainstorming session' next week, including Mark and Tony's social calendar. Nicola and Mark will try and procure us a wall planner so that we can...erm...plan things.

AOCB

  • We need to find out who has the Sweet Charity set and what they are going to do with it. We think Andrea may have some relevant information. 'Ian will do Andrea'
  • Maria is leaving us for southern climes. Bye, Bye Maria.
  • Bugsy Malone: We finally have Qudos booked for the performance on Sun 8th Oct. We have access all day, but there will be a band in the night before, as well as on Thursday and Friday, so we can't use it before then. The committee rooms have been booked for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday, as well as a provisional booking for the Thursday. Tony will try and sort out our regular Thursday/Sunday booking as soon as the QM let us. Out of courtesy to the other occupants we should find out if there is a booking system for the meeting rooms in Western Court. We need splurge guns.
  • We should bear Christmas events in mind, but it was felt we can leave the planning of these until after Bugsy Malone is out of the way.
  • We discussed again the possibility of investing the costume account in some form of high interest savings account. Lorna will look into it when she returns from holiday.
  • The society's pianos were also discussed at length. John Paul will try and claim as many as he can find. Mark owns one, but it's in Bolton.
