Correspondence
- The Mitchell say it’s OK to make announcements about sponsorship; the microphones were on the tech spec
because they are available for our use, but they cost £50 each per week. They want to know how many tickets
we want them to sell for each performance. (The committee all thought they should have put that on the form in
the first place.) We’ll say 70, 70, 50, 50, 50.
- The Bank Of Scotland don’t care that their logo is not on posters.
- Glasgow City Council say we are eligible to apply for their small grant scheme but have to do so by 7th
December. They suggested we start with small request as we can apply for larger amounts in future.
- The Music Club have made contact about the concert on 11th.
Anniversary Subcommittee
...met last night. The general consensus was that a concert should be held around 18th October. There should
also be a large dinner. It was suggested that we could form a concert party to go and perform for money. It was
then suggested that we do this anyway.
SRC minibuses
Ewan is still the only one who can drive them. We need a second. Lorna could do it. We’ll also ask the tech
crew.
Spring Show
The posters have arrived and await collection from David’s flat. The first Sunday rehearsal will be on 9th
December in Qudos. Laura will ask about putting a large poster in the Mitchell’s display case. We’ll ask the
universities print service if they’ll print a large one. We should start looking for programme adverts now. Libby
will start sending out letters re complimentary tickets.
Christmas Concerts
We are singing at the STAG festival on Friday 7th. We can sing in the foyer before it starts or in the auditorium
at the interval. We can plug our show to our heart’s content. (JP IS A FOOL: he volunteered to be STAG’s
production designer...) We are singing in Buchanan Galleries on the evening of the 19th. Glover has offered
Christmassy boxes.
AOCB
- There is no ceilidh at the Renfrew Ferry, so we’ll go the Riverside Club instead.
- Curlers double-booked us for Stars in Their Eyes but have told Astrosoc to take a hike because they like us
more. (Apparently, “Thursday night is Cecilians night at Curlers.”) They even offered to provide all the karaoke
equipment if we pay for the buffet (£50). We’ll charge £3 per head.
- The Dinner Dance has been provisionally booked for 27th April. We have the Botanic Suite again.
Meeting Closed at 6.58pm
