Commitee Meeting Minutes

Minutes of Committee Meeting 15 July 2004

Present: Ewan, Lorna, Alison, Kathryn, Cat and Pete
Apologies: Lucy, Julie, Lisa, Ben, Alice, Erin and Rob
Meeting commenced at 7.20pm

Correspondence

  • Pete went to the Post Office to get the package that we got the card for on 19th June. Sadly it has been returned to sender
  • We received a cheque and an application to become an associate member from Chinno’s mum
  • We received an e-mail telling us that there is a letter about our SRC grant in the mailbox
  • We received disgruntled e-mails from JP and Ali about concert party and decided that at the end of the day it is up to the committee who runs the concert party, not them and it would be good to give new people a go. We decided to postpone this discussion till a further date
  • Lorna received an e-mail from Ben which she read out to the rest of the committee. A vote was held and it was decided that he is a Gaylord as he will be reading the minutes in South Africa. Unfortunately there was not a quorum present so he is not yet officially a Gaylord

AOCB

Grants

  • There may be a grant that we can get from G12
  • Stag currently get it and have received £400 for one show
  • To be eligible the show must help students with their course. Kiss Me Kate could be said to help English Literature and/or Theatre students
  • Pete will look into it

Ceilidh

  • Chulain will e-mail a confirmation. They normally need 25% as a deposit

Sponsorship

  • Drummond Miller, the law firm that Cat’s working for, have said that they’ll sponsor us in return for a couple of complementary tickets. We could also give them an advert in the programme
  • Cat and Kathryn had a sponsorship meeting, they are looking into sponsorship that is relevant to the 70s

Publicity

  • Dai said that he would do a poster design, no-one else got back to Kathryn
  • Ewan said that if we are desperate him and Nicky could do it again
There was a small intermission so everyone could get drunk in preparation for the budget meeting

  • Kathryn will research this to see if we can lower the budget

  • These are not included in the budget and we will discuss them at another time

Kiss Me Kate Ticket Prices

  • Everyone present agreed that we should follow Ewan’s suggestion of £7 and £10 on the door and £6 and £8 in advance
