Minutes Cecilian Society Committee Meeting 20/02/03

Present:

Apologies:Meeting opened – 6.05pm

1 - Correspondence

• Cate was told that Gust want a link to them on our website. They also wondered about filming a rehearsal or a show. JP will ask his sister about filming a rehearsal.
• Letter from Sandy Brown – an apology for asking for free tickets, and a ticket order.
• Eliza talked to Mr McConnachie – we can have Qudos on Sunday from 12.30pm until it closes.
• Adele had some programmes – they are different paper from usual, but they are fine.
• Trevor – Adele will ask if he will come along to the dress rehearsal.
• Whorehouse video is in circulation.
• Ali had more problems with the Tramway.
• Tony – the piano hasn’t been tuned and is untenable. The room may be too hot. Tony will speak to Dave Wilson about it. Simon Burton didn’t charge us.
• Gregor went to Sound Control. The two broken keys on Lorna’s piano will be about £30. We will get it fixed.
• Laura is being Stage Manager on Monday and Tuesday. We should pay travel expenses – she can speak to Nadia about it.
• Complimentary tickets have gone out to Curlers and Classic Lifts.
• Invoice for adverts have gone out.
• We have a new associate member – Jane Skinner.

• The Hilton is booked. We just have to check the order and send it back.
• We have no venue for the after show party. Tony will start looking for a hall as a contingency plan.
• Jumping Jacks is confirmed.
• We will book Curlers for the Post Mortem so that it’s not full of others.
• We have some paper plates for the curry. Could get cartons instead – easier to clean and thrown away. £5 again, but we need more rice this year.
• Chris will buy the curry. Will ask for it to be delivered.
• Libby will get alcohol for After show party.
• Will get numbers for both during the week.
• Was suggested that we should have a list of things to do for the get-out. Ali will try and get a list from Ewan.
• Also need people for the get-in.
• Need to pay membership before we get into the theatre.
• We haven’t sold enough complimentary tickets yet. Will need to get people to sell more.
• Ali went to the Tramway to get tickets. The list was all confused and didn’t say who they had sold tickets to etc. They also had credit card details for the wrong people etc. We should discuss after the show whether we pay them, as we are meant to give them £50 but they mucked it up. We will pay for the tickets being printed. Tony thought that this nearly warranted a letter! Watch out folks.
• There are loads of prizes for the raffle. We could make up big prizes out of little ones. Will be drawn sometime after the show, and get in touch with people who won.
• Cast and crew can buy tickets. JP and Tony won’t so that they can draw the prizes.
• Associate members got a t-shirt, photo and programme last year. Will need to make up similar packs this year.
• Ali has dressing room lists. There is a lockable cupboard somewhere.
• There is a piano in the building. Libby will take Ben’s piano to the rehearsal on Sunday.
• Some concern was raised about the production team shouting too much. The production team though that some control is needed as people can be very loud.
• Ali will say on Monday about scripts coming back, and money for the parties.
• Need to book Qudos or Curlers for Whorehouse video night. Could turn off the screen downstairs in Curlers. Chris will ask Curlers. It’s not the best standard of videos, but we want to see it anyway.
• Stag wanted a joint karaoke on the last Wednesday of term. They haven’t got back to Chris about it. We have exams so can’t say how many will come.
• Insurance needs to be renewed. Due on Feb 22nd. Nadia will phone first thing tomorrow morning.
• Liam had a new date from Hugh Harris – PhD student should finish in June. Next years committee will be the ones to move.
