Commitee Meeting Minutes
Minutes Cecilian Society Committee Meeting 13/02/03
Present: Libby, Gregor, Eliza, Nicola, Tony, Cate, Adele, Jenny, Ali, JP, Chris, Liam, Nadia. Sam, Ewan.
Apologies: Nadia (for lateness)
Meeting opened – 6.00pm (Wow)
Minutes from last week proposed by Cate (who now gets them – yay), seconded by Eliza.
1 - Correspondence
- Email from Mr Mcconnachie - we have the FF for Thursday and Sunday this week, but we must replace the tables into rows of three and put the rubbish away or we will be charged for a cleaner.
- QM – muffin was stolen. They will deal directly with the person involved. They may do something to us after the show but they haven’t decided yet – will tell Tony when they do.
- Adele had invoice for T-shirts (and the T-shirts themselves).
- She phoned the Kings and the Mitchell. Kings have to be phoned again tomorrow. Mitchell say we can put posters up inside and flyers inside. Adele can’t do flyering herself, so unless anyone wants to, the poster inside etc should be enough.
- We will flyer outside the library/hub from 12.45 – 1.15pm on Monday. Anyone available should go to help.
- People can take posters with them tonight.
- Programmes are at the printers – should be ready next Thursday.
- Jo Odds replied to say thanks for her complimentary tickets.
- JP emailed her about room bookings problems. She hasn’t replied yet.
- Ian Campbell emailed Jenny to ask if he can give associate membership as a birthday present!
- JP wrote to Sandy Brown to explain about no complimentary tickets.
- Ali spoke to the Council about wheelchairs – can only go at the sides at the front.
- 50th account was closed this week.
2 - West Side Story
- Sitz Probe – Eliza will try the QM (to see if the gig is on), GU, SRC and the rest of the Uni tomorrow to find a room big enough. Maximum price £100. If not, she will text Ali, and he will book a community hall in Maryhill or equivalent. We will need it from 11am – 6pm. We can then move back to the QM for the evening.
- Raffle is going well. More prizes from Chris.
- Dialysis unit will bring 4 on Wednesday and 12 on Saturday.
- Libby will see if the drama group (who came last year) want to go.
- Marie Curie are also possibles – JP will email them.
- Eliza will email complimentary ticket people again to see what night they want to go as Saturday is filling up.
- Tony got in touch with the GU Guardian. Will probably send someone to Sunday evenings rehearsal to do a review which will go in the opening night of the show.
- Jenny got in touch with clubs. Committee voted on choices. Vote was for Jumping Jacks in Sauchiehall Street. Free entry and £1 drinks + a karaoke.
- We still have no flat big enough for the after show party. Will be announced again tonight.
3 - Weekend Away
- Minibus is provisionally booked – man has to check with his head office.
- Nadia and Libby are possible drivers for the SRC mini-bus.
4 - AOCB
- Ewan hasn’t been receiving post he was expecting at Oakfield Avenue. Libby checks the SRC one and it doesn’t have the things he’s missing. Nor does 62 Oakfield Avenue.
- Lorna’s piano is still in the kitchen. Jo Odds said she would try and find somewhere for it.
- The Uni have taken a room back from stag.
- Still waiting for Media Services to email Jenny about the whorehouse video.
- 1st half of the 50th video is done.
- Tony will ask Mark if its easier for someone to come and pick up the videos – if so, Libby will do it.
- We will sell t-shirts at £5 each.
- The band confirmed with Chris that they will play at the dinner dance.
Meeting closed – 6.52pm
