Apologies:

None. (Excellent)

Meeting opened – 6.14pm.

Thank you to Eliza for the cake that she brought.

1 - Correspondence

  • Nicola phoned about the Childline concert. There isn’t going to be one in Glasgow this year. We can go to one in Stirling or Edinburgh instead. It was decided that we have the Stag festival, the music club concert, and can still sing for old people etc, so we have enough to do. This may mean that we get more time to rehearse as well.
  • Cate got last years membership list from Tony. She has the new list which Libby will put into a new email list this week.
  • Adele got an invoice for BLW publicity. It came to £237.
  • We don’t have committee room 2 tonight. It was booked, so Eliza went to find out about it.
  • Jenny had email from the LBG society – they want to know more about the ceilidh. We just want them to publicise it within their society, and to bring people along – they don’t have to organise anything.

2 - QM meeting

Tony and JP went to the meeting on Monday. They will write to us when they have decided what action to take. The main thing that was raised at the meeting was that we need to have a contract with the QM for any other shows that we do. This should stop any confusion. There were also problems with having too many front of house people. This should be remembered for next year so that the same problems don’t arise. We need the Food Factory if the same amount of people keep coming to rehearsals. Eliza will ask about it when she goes to book rooms.

3 - Auditions + Room bookings

Eliza will go to the Porters box to get keys for the Stag room to see if we can have it for auditions. Adele has booked the Williams Room for the 14th and 21st. Usually you need a £50 deposit.

4 - Christmas Concert

Adele will ask the woman from Marie Curie about singing for them again this year. We will rehearse on Sundays (if the com. Rooms are available) except for the day after the ceilidh when the rehearsal will be on Monday 25th November. Eliza will book the room from 6pm – 10pm so that Adele can have extra dance rehearsals for those that want it at 6pm – 7pm.

5 - 2004

This committee will need to make a preliminary booking for 2004. Ali will check out the venues on the list that the council sent us to see which are suitable, before we dicuss them.

6 - Accounts

Tony will show Nadia more about what the job of treasurer involves so that she can do the report on BLW. He will also show her break even etc for making up budgets.

7 - Post Mortems

There is not much point doing them tonight as we do not have the budgets to see how they did financially. The committee would like to thank Barry for the lighting at BLW. We wouldn’t have had any lights if it wasn’t for him, so thank you.

8 - Rooms

Eliza checked, and we were allowed to use both rooms tonight. Mark has us in for Thursdays for both rooms right through to Christmas.

9 - Auditions

The committee are to take turns in waiting at the audition places to ensure that people get to the right place. Adele will email a list of when everyone volunteered to do it.

10 - AOCB

  • Liam is tidying the office this weekend in case it’s needed for auditions.
  • The SRC informed us that our Strathclyde student doesn’t count for money on the affiliation form.
  • Ticket manager and front of house staff will be selected once auditions are over.
  • There is a set of minutes missing from the records. Libby knows this but has been staying quiet. They may be misplaced. She will have another look for them this week.
  • Jospeh Weinberger have told us that there is absolutely no way we can change the order of songs. So there we go.

Meeting closed – 6.52pm.
