Cecilian Society Committee Meeting 02/06/02

Weekend Show

The Theatre Guilds contract means that we cant do it this year. Having read the perusal material though, we should remember that its a suitale show and consider it in the future.

Lyric club have recently had auditions for Annie. They are doing it in October, so it may affect our ability to do it. Ewan had emailed to say that in his opinion, from a tech point of view, Annie would be the best show to do.

After a discussion, the choice of the committee was The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. 9 members voted to pick this show, Libby voted against it.

Libby will email the society to reiterate the fact that we are choosing a production team on Sunday 9th June. If production team candidates want perusal material, they can email Libby to get it from her.

We will apply for the rights to do the show. The musical director will need a score to work on during the summer. It is a possibility that they could buy it, donate it to the society, and the society could reimburse them. Ali will ask about any discounts for an educational establishment or for only doing it over a weekend.

Ali will check again that the weekend has been booked in Qudos. We also need to check if we can have the committee rooms, the food factory and the study rooms.
