Minutes of Cecilian Society Committee Meeting 27/06/02

Present:

Nicola, Gregor, Tony, Adele, Ali, JP, Libby.

Meeting opened: 6.05pm.

1 - Correspondence

JP has emailed amateur societies about the 50th we are featured now on the Minerva's website.

Tony chased up room bookings. We cant have the John Mac because matriculation is on at the same time. Could use the Concert Hall not confirmed yet. Also there has been no reply yet from Jamie about the letter to the QM.

David Wilson will fit wheels on the piano for £80. Will see if anyone offers it cheaper before agreeing.

Ali posted the contract for WSS. There has been no mention yet about BLW from Samuel French. Ali will phone them to see what's happening.

2-Summer Bookings

We want the committee rooms every Thursday from 6-10pm.

3 - Production Team

The meeting to decide on the Production Team will be on Wednesday 3rd July at 7pm in Oakfield Avenue.

Liam wanted to raise the suggestion for phone votes for the members of the committee who cant make it to the meeting. It was agreed that an opinion can be given, but you cant vote unless youve heard what is said at the meeting.

A secret ballot can be requested.

Once chosen, the prod. Team should be invited to committee meetings once a month at 6.30 pm to discuss any problems etc. We need to ensure that they know about the budgets and know that they must stick to them.

4 - 50th anniversary

Adele doesnt need to do the publicity for this. The sub-committee will take care of any that needs to be done.

5 - AOCB

Adele raised concerns about Cabaret. The director has contacted several members of Cecilians individually. It seems to be one member of STAG recruiting people rather than doing it as a society. We need as much talent as we have got for WSS. May cause a conflict of interest which is worrying in such a busy year. Adele will ask them when exactly they intend to do it to get a clearer picture of how it will affect us.

The medical show is going to be Little Shop of Horrors. We can go to see the dress rehearsal on the Wednesday night.
