Correspondence

  • Lorna Bailey is moving flat and giving back the piano she bought at a society jumble sale for œ50. We are being allowed to put it in a meeting room in Western Court. Johnny knows a tuner who won't charge us to look and see how much work is needed.
  • Alan Langley has sent Ewan some musicals. Ewan will ask him to stop sending us stuff as we don't we want to pay £10 p&p.
  • Although Nicola was told on the phone that the rights for Anything Goes have been secured,we still have nothing in writing as yet. The Crawfurd Theatre has asked for confirmation of dates etc.
  • The QM asked JP for a spiel for the union Freshers' Handbook. He gave them one.
  • The social posse have an e-mail address: socialposse@bt.internet.co.uk
  • Tony is having a barbecue tomorrow and has provided directions.

Bugsy Malone

Ian knows someone who wants to come and do sound, and who can also get us a radio mic. We like him already.

Anything Goes

The current candidates for production team are:
Director - Mark Ridyard
Musical Director - Jonathan Salmond, Anne Herbert: Anne was not present, but sent in a `CV' of things we might like to consider.
The committee discussed what things we should be looking for in a production team, and then spoke to Mark and Jonathan individually. Ian asked it to be minuted that Mark used `visual quotation marks' in conversation, despite the obvious difficulties of notating a hand gesture on paper.
Whilst the discussion was useful to all concerned, it was felt that no fair decision could be reached until the committee had also spoken to Anne in person.
Sam suggested that one specific person be appointed to the role of producer, possibly doubling up as assistant director or stage manager.
