Cecilian Society Committee Meeting 14th September 2000, Jim's Bar

Correspondence

  • We have the T-shirts for Freshers' Week. People stil need to pay for them.
  • Alan Langley has written a musical about Judy Garland. We won't be asking for perusal material.
  • The SRC may be able to audit our books for us.

Freshers' Week

Our stall this year is in the main hall in the John McIntyre building, not the Hunter Halls. The flyers haven't been printed yet, but we will get 500(ish) A3 posters and 2000(ish) flyers from Impac, at around £110 for the lot. We will offer people a shot of a splurge gun if they join the society. On joining, members will receive: 2 posters for Bugsy Malone, a go of the lucky dip, a complete script for Bugsy Malone, and a copy of the newsletter.

Susan will send the newsletter to honorary members and invite them to Bugsy Malone at the same time.

Bugsy Malone...

...is getting very near. The big production meeting will be at 5.30pm on Sunday in Western Court. We shouldn't need any publicity material beyond that which is being printed for Freshers' Week

AOCB

  • The SRC want to offer us financial/web design training
  • We should establish an associate members scheme before Bugsy Malone. Suggestions include: £20 annual subscription, discounted tickets, priority booking, name in programme, copy of the newsletter, Christmas card from the society.
  • Ian will probe for famous people who might want to become our honorary president.
