Correspondence

  • We have received the scripts etc. for Anything Goes.
  • It will cost us £55 (each) to activate the ethernet sockets in the office. We decided it wouldn't be worth it.
  • We received notification that at 00.13 on Saturday 7th October, the front door to Western Court was left unlocked and the alarm was not switched on. We now have a code for the alarm and will try to remember to use it in future.
  • The cleaners complained about the mess left in Western Court after Bugsy Malone, but did not feel it necessary to inform Estates and Buildings. Tony and Nicola have scrubbed the place from top to bottom and it is now as good as new (almost). The cleaners say they will give us as many dust sheets as necessary if we are going to paint things in Western Court in future.
  • Someone e-mailed the udcf account, enquiring about how to become MD. Ewan wrote back and told him how.
  • John Paul sends congratulations for Bugsy Malone. As for the point about us having nowhere to store large objects, he suggested that the university should store them free of charge, since they are the ones who limited our space, and pointed out that they already store the bookcases from Hillhead Street for us. It was decided to place a cover cloth on the bar in the Western court meeting room in the interim.
  • The 'socialposse' e-mail account received an e-mail suggesting that that we have jelly containing glow-in- the-dark bugs at the Hallowe'en party. Anne looked sheepish.
  • The QM need a copy of the constitution and a membership list before they can process our affiliation application.
  • Jonathan Fleming has had to resign from the committee, but we thank him for the work he put in over the summer.

Bugsy Malone

Ian has now tracked down nearly all of the vocal scores as they need to go back asap. The flats etc. will go back on Saturday; Johnny should be able to provide a van for free. It was a success, by the way.

Anything Goes

First rehearsal tonight. Anne and Mark plan to have auditions in week 4. We need to have along discussion at a later date about the number of performances.

AOCB

  • We will write to Tim Shand to complain about being in the John Mac at the Freshers' Fayre.
  • We will invite anyone wishing to take Johnny's place on the committee to come to next week's commitee meeting.
  • Ewan was very excited that he has seen graffiti about the Cecilian Society. It wasn't complimentary, but at least it shows we're famous.
  • Ewan is meeting Linzi Davidson from Childline next Friday afternoon.
