Commitee Meeting Minutes

Cecilian Society Committee Meeting, 11/10/01, QM

Present:

Ed, Jp, Libby, Ali, tony, Anne, Lorna, Adele, Nicky, Ian, Gregor

Apologies:

Ewan, Laura

Meeting Opened at 6.14pm

Grease

  • There may be a problem with one of the QM's lights. David Glover noticed the problem early on Sunday morning and mentioned it to the Honorary Secretary. No one told us not to use the light in question. At no point during the day did we lower that particular bar. Ewan and David think the problem is only in the motor not the light. We have not heard anything official from the Qm yet, but it has been suggested that the light was broken "during our time of use."
  • The queue stretched to University Avenue!!!!
  • We made £491.99 which is 985 of the budget (although we did go 30% over budget) We have been billed for everything but the lighting and owe Adele £50 for pizzas.
  • STAG say "well done."
  • We are missing 4 cheerleader costume.
  • JP has sorted the store room, which is now tidier than it has ever been. Some costumes need washed.
  • The University Guardian came to speak to people.
  • Andy Walker is donating the £10 he was mistakenly charged for tickets, and said some very nice things about the show.
  • In future, it should be the committee's job to make sure people are there for the auditions.

Spring Show

Ian's getting enthusiastic. We need to get the room bookings sorted ASAP. Auditions are on the 20th/21st. There is a gig in the Qm next Thursday. David Doig will design the posters and we will get them done at Clydeside, same quantities as before. We'll try to get them to the printers by the end of the month. We also need to publicise the auditions. Sarah will definitely be ticket manager. Ali will try and organise old folks' homes, schools, brownies and office parties. Jenny Field will choreograph and David Glover will be tech manager. "They're both lovely...but in very different ways."

Correspondence

  • Shona Hunter has been removed from the e-mail list, saying as she's now in Australia.
  • The Early Learning Centre are running a panto promotion. Pity we're not doing a panto.
  • Anker wants to know if they can come at another time. Dicussion to be held over until Ewan is present.
  • Anne's mum and dad e-mailed to say how much they enjoyed the show.

AOCB
