Education at UMBSM

UMBSM provides teaching support for its ‘parent’ university, the University of London, and for the University of Glasgow, at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Some of our courses can be taken as stand-alone modules to gain academic credit for a qualification at another institution, for continuing professional development, or for general interest.

We also provide accommodation, facilities and logistical support for field teaching by visiting universities, colleges and schools as the National Facility for Marine Biology Fieldwork. We see training in fieldwork skills as an essential component of a multi-disciplinary education in marine science. Science is about investigating nature – and most of nature is outdoors!
