Education, lifelong learning and global citizenship

Adult and Continuing Education has links across a number of African countries. These links are sustained informally through a thematic e-mail network under the title Adult Education and Poverty Reduction (AEPR), which facilitates student recruitment for postgraduate study and provides a first point of contact for collaborations.

The University looks increasingly to funded collaboration for initiatives in sub-Saharan Africa by means of ‘learning region’, ‘city-to-city partnerships’ and university collaborations of the sort piloted in PASCAL International. PASCAL is an independent not-for-profit international observatory which aims to promote the exchange of cutting edge best practice research, ideas and policies about place management including regeneration and new growth areas, social capital and learning regions.
