KT Champions

A key feature of the Innovation Network is the appointment of ‘Knowledge Transfer Champions’.  The Champions’ role is to help encourage and facilitate knowledge transfer activity within their College and School.

KT Champions are experienced academics with a proven track record of working with industry.  They possess a sound knowledge of the University's research activities and the range of academic expertise available.  The role includes: -

  • Helping to promote First Step Awards internally.
  • Helping to match external enquiries with the relevant academic expertise.
  • Identifying areas with potential for developing knowledge transfer activity.
  • Mentoring junior academics and research staff.
  • Liaising with Research & Enterprise.
