Wenjie Qian (PhD 2003)

At the University of Glasgow I completed a PhD in Law from 2000 to 2003. I was very impressed with the Law School as it provided me with excellent supervision and a comprehensive database to support my research. I enjoyed studying at Glasgow a lot because of the very friendly and helpful University staff.

On leaving the University I joined the European Commission in China in August 2003, and was thrilled to find a large number of Glasgow University alumni in Beijing . We were eager to get together to reminisce about our time at GU and to share ideas for the future. We have organized several wonderful events since then, including one with our Principal Sir Muir Russell in March 2006. We have more than 70 alumni in contact so far, and the number is growing.

As the Coordinator of the Beijing Group, I can say that all of the alumni here are very proud to tell others about our wonderful time at the University. GU is always one of the best in the UK due to the academic excellence and the helpful staff. Therefore, we strongly recommend others to spend a few years there.

I am looking forward to welcoming many more GU alumni in the future with whom we can continue to share our happy memories of the University.
