2012 Charity Zip Slide

 Zip Slide across the Clyde and raise funds for the Beatson Pebble AppealPaul O'Gorman Leukaemia Research Centre or Think Pink Campaign.

Thank you for your interest in the Charity Zip Slide, which is sure to be a memorable event! The following information explains how to enter, what to expect on the day and how to collect sponsorship.
  
Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you need any more details. Please bear in mind there are limited spaces available for this event and places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.  Therefore, please register as soon as possible! 

Who can take part? 

Anyone over 16 years of age can take part, even if you have never tried it before! There is a weight limit of 17 stone. Due to the nature of these events and current legislation, all participants under the age of 21 must disclose their age. 

Who runs the event and where is it? 

Instruction and equipment will be provided on the day by qualified instructors from ALPS Outdoor who will be in overall charge of the event, so no previous experience is necessary and there is no need to worry!   The Zip Slide will be situated approximately 50m from the site of the Finnieston Crane.  The mobile crane used is 150ft high and the distance travelled is approximately 1000ft to a landing site across the River Clyde.   

What about safety? 

ALPS Outdoor supply safety staff and safety equipment that is fully and regularly inspected.  Qualified First Aid staff will also be on hand. 

Entry information 

1. The entry fee for the zip slide is £40.00 per person.  This fee will be used to cover the cost of staging the event.  The entry fee ensures that all the money that you have raised in sponsorship will go towards the Beatson Pebble Appeal or the Paul O'Gorman Leukaemia Research Centre. 2. Each individual is asked to try and raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship.  The website Justgiving is a great way to achieve this. If you would like to use a sponsorship form instead, please download a Beatson Pebble Appeal or Paul O'Gorman form on the right hand side of this page. 

3. Every participant will receive a certificate and a t-shirt. 

4. There will be a mobile photograph unit at the event and you can purchase an action photograph of yourself taking part in the Zip Slide on the day.
