2013 Munro Challenge

Can you climb a Munro and raise funds for University appeals?  Then take part in Munro Challenge - the aim is to put as many University representatives on top of as many of Scotland's 282 Munros as possible, throughout the holiday weekend in May.

2013 Commemoration Day

The foundation of the University of Glasgow in 1451 is celebrated each year on Commemoration Day. 

Guests, including alumni celebrating their 50th anniversary since graduation, are invited to attend the honorary graduation ceremony and lunch afterwards in the Hunter Halls.

St Andrew's Foundation Launch - Celebration Mass & Civic Reception

Friday 14 June 2013

Mass will take place at 7pm at St. Andrew’s Cathedral, Clyde Street, Glasgow followed by a Civic Reception hosted by Glasgow City Council at The Briggait Centre, Glasgow.

The University of Glasgow in partnership with the Bishops’ Conference of Scotland is delighted to invite you to attend the launch of the St. Andrew’s Foundation.

The St. Andrew’s Foundation, a new initiative in the School of Education of the University of Glasgow, will serve as the hub of the University’s commitment to Catholic teacher education in Scotland.

The Mass will be an opportunity to honour with profound gratitude those who, often heroically, have guided the development of Catholic education, and Catholic teacher education in particular, in Scotland.

 


St Andrew's Foundation Launch - Annual Cardinal Winning Lecture, University of Glasgow

The University of Glasgow will host the annual Cardinal Winning Lecture which this year, in recognition of the importance of the St. Andrew’s Foundation to the life of the University of Glasgow and the Catholic Church in Scotland, will be given by Archbishop Gerhard Muller, the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. Archbishop Muller is the most distinguished visitor from the Holy See to visit the University of Glasgow.  

The proceedings will include a formal launch of the Foundation, a performance by the University Choir and a panel discussion.

Timings are: 9.45am arrival refreshments, Hunter Halls / 10.30am lecture delivered by Archbishop Gerhard Muller, the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Bute Hall

2013 Cycle Glasgow

The University of Glasgow is organising its 11th sponsored cycle, continuing to raise essential funds for the Paul O'Gorman Leukaemia Research Centre in Glasgow.  This is a fun, family cycling event designed for riders of all abilities.  You can choose to cycle 13 or 26 miles, starting and finishing in Kelvingrove Park.

Please note that online registration will close on Friday 16 August at 11am.  Entries after this time are accepted on the day at the information caravan within Kelvingrove Park between 9.30am - 10.30am.  Late entry fees are: Adult £12 / Junior £5


2013 Tercentenary Law Alumni Dinner

The School of Law will be hosting a formal alumni dinner in the Bute Hall for our law alumni to celebrate the 300 year anniversary of the Regius Chair of Law at the University of Glasgow.

Refund policy

The Development and Alumni Office will issue refunds if cancellation of booking is made more than 4 working days before the event.  Refunds will take up to 30 working days to be processed. 

No refund will be given if cancellation of booking is made 4 working days or less before an event.
