What are the Education UK Alumni Awards?

The Education UK Alumni Awards 2016 celebrate the outstanding achievements made by business professionals, entrepreneurs and community leaders who can demonstrate how their UK education has impacted on their subsequent success.

The awards honour the outstanding achievements made by business professionals, entrepreneurs and community leaders who can demonstrate how their UK education has impacted on their subsequent success.

Education UK Alumni Awards

There are three award categories:

  • Professional Achievement Award – recognising UK alumni who have distinguished themselves through exemplary leadership and achievements in their professional industry
  • Entrepreneurial Award – recognising UK alumni who are active in initiating or contributing to innovative new business opportunities that have the potential for strong growth
  • Social Impact Award – recognising UK alumni who have made an exceptional contribution and commitment to creating positive social change and improving the lives of others

The awards were launched in 2015 and were open to alumni from China, India and the USA.

Who can enter the awards?

The Education UK Alumni Awards are open to individuals who are residing in one of the participating countries below and alumni of a recognised UK higher education institution*. Entrants must have studied at this institution for a minimum of one semester within the past ten years (i.e. in/from 2005 or later).

In 2016 the awards will be extended to ten countries:

  • Brazil
  • China
  • Hong Kong
  • India
  • Indonesia
  • Nigeria
  • Pakistan
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Turkey
  • USA

Each participating country will present the three award categories above.

*Recognised UK higher education institutions are defined as those meeting the criteria on this page: https://siem.britishcouncil.org/eligibility-criteria
