Alumni profiles: Terms and Conditions of use
1. Use of Submitted Information
Your submitted profile information will be held securely by the Development and Alumni Office. By submitting an alumni profile, you are agreeing that your information can be viewed by students and staff and that it will constitute part of an online, searchable database of alumni profiles. Please only include content that you do not mind people viewing.
2. Your Responsibilities
By submitting your alumni profile and agreeing that your LinkedIn profile url can be viewed by students and staff, you are agreeing to participate in the 'Ask our Alumni' initiative. This means that students will be able to contact you, via LinkedIn, for informal careers advice. As LinkedIn is an external website, the University is not able to moderate contact between alumni and students. You may withdraw or edit your alumni profile at any time. To do so, please login to GU World or contact the Development and Alumni Office.
You may still submit an alumni profile even if you choose not to provide a LinkedIn profile url or to opt out of the 'Ask Our Alumni' scheme. Your alumni profile will still be accessible by students and staff, but your LinkedIn profile url will not be displayed.
It is your responsibility to ensure that the content that you submit is not inflammatory, racist, sexist, homophobic, abusive or likely to offend.
3. Disclaimer
The University reserves the right to edit any or all of your submitted profile content. Additionally, the University is not obliged to use any of the content that is submitted should it not be appropriate or is not needed.
The University has no control over or responsibility for the truth or accuracy of any submitted alumni profile, whether provided by registered users or others.
Any links to third party sites or LinkedIn do not constitute any endorsement or any responsibility for the site in question or anything that appears on it.
Any data submitted to the University by means of your alumni profile or any data you choose to update from time to time will be processed by the University in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
If you do not agree to our Terms and Conditions, please do not submit an alumni profile.
