S4 Reach written assigment

After your S4 school session, we will ask you to submit a 300 word statement telling us about yourself.  Tell us what you are studying in school and which subjects you enjoy the most.  What do you do in your spare time, do you have any hobbies or interests?  Are you involved in any extra-curricular activities in or outside of school?  If you can, tell us why you’re interested in studying one of these professions e.g. it might be that you enjoy debating and so are interested in Law. 

Completed statements should be e-mailed to reach@glasgow.ac.uk no later than ONE week after your S4 school session.  If you have any problems sending it to us by e-mail please get in touch via your school contact teacher.

You must submit the written assignment to enable you to attend the S4 Reach Campus Day which is likely to take place in March.


S4 Reach University Campus Day 2013

A campus-based day will be held at the University of Glasgow for S4 pupils in March for Medicine and Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine and Law. The campus day provides pupils with an opporunity to meet with staff and students from the professional schools, attend lectures and participate in activities.  

Below is an example timetable based on the S4 campus day in March 2012.

10.30am – Arrival time
11-12.00pm – Lecture on studying subject and intro to topical issue to be discussed in afternoon seminar
12-45pm – Lunch (provided)
12.45-2.15pm – Informal seminar/discussion with Reach staff and current students on topical issue (and other related student life issues)
2.30pm – Pupils depart campus
