Hunterian Museum

The University’s Hunterian Museum is Scotland’s oldest public museum. Located in the Main Building, it is home to a rich collection of rare and important objects. Displays include Scottish mineral treasures, dinosaurs, fossils and world culture. Bio-diversity, evolution and animal architecture also feature, along with permanent exhibitions dedicated to the Romans in Scotland, Hunterian founder Dr William Hunter, Lord Kelvin and the history of medicine in Glasgow.

Hunterian Art Gallery

The Hunterian Art Gallery, next to the University Library, has a wide range of outstanding works on show. Masterpieces by Rembrandt, Rubens, Chardin, Whistler and Stubbs sit alongside major examples of Scottish art including the Scottish Colourists and Glasgow Boys.

The Mackintosh House

The Hunterian Art Gallery is home to the largest single holding of the work of Scottish artist, architect and designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868-1928) and The Mackintosh House, the reassembled principal interiors from his Glasgow home.

Opening hours: The Hunterian is open from Tuesday-Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday 11am-4pm. Closed Mondays. Admission free - admission charge for special exhibitions.

The Hunterian Art Gallery shop stocks a varied selection of publications, gifts and souvenirs.

University Gift Shop

The University Gift Shop is the first port of call for information of any kind about the University. There is a full range of literature covering every aspect of the University and beyond. There is also a great selection of gifts and memorabilia for sale.

Zoology Museum

The Zoology Museum, based in the Graham Kerr Building, features displays showing the amazing diversity of the animal kingdom.

The Zoology Museum is open from Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.
