Funding opportunities
The International Partnership Development Fund (IPDF) supports the University’s international collaboration activities. The IPDF for 2013-2014 is now open and the new application form can be found: International Partnership Fund
Our new Staff Mobility Programme is designed to encourage staff, both academic and support, to undertake international visits and exchanges with overseas partner institutions and other potential partners: Human Resources Internationalisation web pages
There are also two Erasmus staff mobility funding opprtunities open to University of Glasgow staff:
Principal’s Early Career Mobility Fund: Glasgow-Columbia. This new fund is available to support PhD students and post-doctoral researchers from the University of Glasgow to visit or conduct research at Columbia University (New York).
There are a number of external funding schemes which offer support for the development of collaborative activity with international partners, including:
- UKIERI (UK India Education and Research Initiative) - to fund activity with partners in India
The European Commission's international co-operation programmes in higher education and training include:
- Erasmus Mundus: enhancing quality in higher education through scholarships and academic co-operation worldwide;
- The European Commission's cooperation with industrialised countries: enhancing the quality of higher education and vocational education and training, mainly through joint study programmes;
- Jean Monnet programme: promoting teaching and research on European integration;
- Tempus: building co-operation between the EU and neighbouring regions;
- Edulink: capacity-building and regional integration in higher education in ACP (Africa, Caribbean and Pacific) states and regions;
- Alfa: supporting co-operation between higher education institutions in the EU and Latin America.
