Weipers Centre for Equine Welfare
Generous gifts from our supporters enabled the £6.2m Weipers Centre for Equine Welfare to open in 2001.
The Centre caters for every horse and owner's need, with specialist services and facilities available to cover all aspects of equine medicine and surgery. The Centre also plays a pivotal role in the professional development of both undergraduate and postgraduate students including practical, tutorial and lecture style classes as well as providing postgraduate training for resident and research students. Education and training for the equine - owners, nurses, technicians and farriers - in all aspects of equine health is also provided.
The contruction of a second stable block at the Weipers Centre for Equine Welfare is now complete. Funded by a generous bequest, the new building has doubled the stabling capacity. In addition, there is accommodation for critical care cases which have been specifically designed for adult horses and foals.
Professor Sandy Love, Director of the Weipers Centre is delighted with this new facility and grateful to the many people who continue to support the Centre. All new donations made will benefit the Weipers Equine Equipment Fund. There is always a need to purchase new equipment in order to improve the service provision to our patients and if you are interested in supporting the Weipers Equine Centre please contact us.
