The Small Animal Hospital Campaign
The Vet School is well-loved throughout Scotland and our hospital has always played an important role in treating sick and injured animals from all over the UK as well as providing the best training for current and future vets and nurses.
The old Small Animal Hospital was outdated, cramped and at the end of its useful life, and so our campaign to build a new hospital began. The aim was to provide a world class teaching centre for veterinary medicine, challenging current concepts of clinical practice, teaching and research and pioneering future standards in animal treatment and welfare.
After more than ten years in the planning the University of Glasgow's new Small Animal Hospital opened in September 2009, thanks in no small part to our supporters. The patients we treat have always received a high standard of care, but with our new hospital the care and treatment delivered will now be provided in the best surroundings possible.
The Campaign continues
Our philanthropic target is to raise £5.5m of which we have raised nearly £4m. In order to meet our campaign target our fundraising efforts are ongoing. Gifts will be helping to support the completion and ongoing work of the hospital and maintain our Vet School's role as a leader in veterinary medicine. By supporting our campaign you are helping us to ensure our pets are provided with the best possible care in the highest quality surroundings; and our vets and nurses of tomorrow are learning in state of the art surroundings with access to some of the best vets in their fields.
