Recent awards

Since the Chancellor's Fund was set up in 1999 over 220 projects have been supported representing a wide variety of departments and disciplines.  Listed below is an example of some of the projects that benefited from funding at the last board meeting in April 2010.

Talented Athletes Development Project

£20,000 - To enhance support available to talented student athletes performing at the highest level in their sport.


Research diver programme

£6,000 - To set up a scientific diving programme for Marine Biology and Zoology students that will run alongside and complement undergraduate degrees.


University of Glasgow booth at the Glasgow Science Centre

£5,000 - To construct a multi-media kiosk to showcase the work of leading University researchers in the sciences, engineering and medicine.  This booth will be located in the Glasgow Science Centre.


Mobile Phone Forensics Research

£17,610 - To establish foundational research into the effectiveness of obtaining forensic data from mobile phones.


Chapel Choir Touring

£3,000 - To assist with the Chapel Choir’s international touring programme.


Student Wayfinder Mobile Phone Application

£5,000 - To produce campus information software for use on mobile phones.
