About us

American Alumni of Glasgow University (AAGU) is an independent charitable corporation organized in the United States that has been recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a section 501(c)(3) charitable organization. 

AAGU was formed at the end of 2008 in response to the University’s increasing alumni activities and events in North America and to help the University further its strategic goals by developing new initiatives and activities specifically for the North American region. 

All donations to AAGU are deductible as charitable contributions to the full extent permitted by law. A copy of its latest annual report may be obtained, upon request, from the treasurer.

Our current priorities

AAGU has identified several areas in which it wishes to focus its support for the University of Glasgow including, but not limited to, those outlined below:

- The Chancellor’s Fund
- The Scholarship’s Fund
- The Medical Fund (including the Beatson Pebble Appeal for Cancer Research)
- The Vet Fund
- The Law Fund
- The Library Fund
- The Hunterian Fund
- SCENE
- The College of Arts
- The College of Social Sciences
- The College of Science and Engineering
- The College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences

As you make gifts to AAGU, you may indicate your wish to support a particular grant or grants. The Board of Directors will consider such wishes in making and planning grants to the University.
