Half Yearly Meetings of General Council

Meetings are held at half-yearly intervals (January and June). All General Council members are entitled to attend, i.e. all graduates and academic staff of the University. Notifications of meetings are published on this web site and in Avenue (the alumni magazine) that members receive twice a year. Avenue is also published at this link. Meetings are also videorecorded.

February 2014 General Council Meeting

The next Meeting of the General Council will be held on Saturday 1st February 2014 at 10.30 for 11 am in the University (venue TBA). Refreshments will be served from 10.30 am. A draft  agenda will be published and regularly updated at 20140201 GC Draft Agenda‌. Paper copies of the agenda will be available at the meeting. The Chancellor, Professor Sir Kenneth Calman will be in the Chair. The Meeting will be addressed by the Principal, Professor Anton Muscatelli.

June 2013 General Council Meeting

The last Meeting of the General Council was held on Saturday 22nd June 2013 at 11 am in the AHTC Lecture Theatre of the University's Garscube Campus in Bearsden. The agenda can be found at: GC Agenda June 2013 The Chancellor, Professor Sir Kenneth Calman, was in the Chair. The Meeting was addressed by the Principal, Professor Anton Muscatelli. After the meeting, there were separate informal presentations by:

• Professor Anna Dominiczak, Head of the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences; she presented the latest developments in the College and;
• Professor Alan Jardine, Head of Undergraduate Medicine in the School of Medicine; he presented developments in the new spiral undergraduate medical curriculum.

Following the presentations, there were walking tours of a) the Weipers Large Animal Hospital and b) the Small Animal Hospital.

January 2013 General Council Meeting

There was a Meeting of the General Council on Saturday 19th January 2013 at 11 am in the Fraser Building. Appendices A and B referred to in the June Avenue can be found on the GC Agenda Jan 2013.
